A weak law for normed weighted sums of random elements in rademacher type p banach spaces

For weighted sums Σ_{j = 1}ⁿa_jV_j of independent random elements {V_n, n ≥ 1} in real separable, Rademacher type p (1 ≤ p ≤ 2) Banach spaces, a general weak law of large numbers of the form (Σ_{j = 1}ⁿa_jV_j − v_n)/b_n →^p 0 is established, where {v_n, n ≥ 1} and b_n → ∞ are suitable sequences. It is assumed that {V_n, n ≥ 1} is stochastically dominated by a random element V, and the hypotheses involve both the behavior of the tail of the distribution of |V| and the growth behaviors of the constants {a_n, n ≥ 1} and {b_n, n ≥ 1}. No assumption is made concerning the existence of expected values or absolute moments of the {V_n, n >- 1}.     

Fuzzy relation equations theory as a basis of fuzzy modelling: An overview

We give a wide overview on the applications of fuzzy relation equations theory to decision-making processes, to the construction of preference relations and to Knowledge Engineering, mainly fuzzy control and fuzzy pattern recognition. General theoretical results and methodological aspects are pointed out.

一类线性非自伴算子的谱

近年来国际上出现了一类以迁移理论为背景的所谓＂ｕ－标算子（ｕ－ｓｃａｌａｒｏｐｅｒａｔｏｒ）＂．本文研究ｕ－标算子与经典的标型谱算子（ｓｐｅｃｔｒａｌｏｐｅｒａｔｏｒｏｆｓｃａｌａｒｔｙｐｅ）的内在联系，给出了此类算子的谱与其无界投影族之间的关系，证明了该类算子的剩余谱是空集．

An application of Special Ordered Sets to a periodic milk collection problem

We present an OR-based approach to support a milk collection problem in a special branch of dairy industry. The annual growth of the sector and the continuous imbalance between milk supply and demand, has urged the sector to look for a different approach to their daily milk collection problem. Specific details of the problem environment (i.e., the continuous production on supply level and the delivery conditions on demand level) gave rise to choose for a short- to medium-term planning approach. The proposed decision support system has to be considered as an efficient tool for generating stable milk collection plans which in turn also serves as an effective starting point for the vehicle routing problem. From a computational point of view it turned out that the application of Special Ordered Sets type 1 (SOS1) was very useful. Although it appears from literature that the computational advantage of SOS1 is restricted to supplementary model conditions, this study shows that these conditions are not necessarily needed.     

Generalized KKM type theorems in FC-spaces with applications (II)

This paper is a continuum of the preceding paper of author. By applying a coincidence theorem in noncompact FC-space without any convexity structure due to author, a new KKM type theorem is first proved under noncompact setting of FC-spaces. The equivalent relation between the coincidence theorem and the KKM type theorem is also established. As applications of the KKM type theorem, we establish some new existence theorems of solutions for three classes of generalized vector equilibrium problems under noncompact setting of FC-spaces. These theorems improve and generalize many known results in literature.     

一类具无穷时滞泛函微分方程的周期解

讨论具有无穷时滞中立型泛函微分方程$ \frac{\rm d}{{\rm d}t}\left(x(t)-\int_{-\infty}^{0}g(s,x(t+s)){\rm d}s\right) =A(t,x(t))x(t)+f(t,x_t)$的周期解问题,利用重合度理论中的延拓定理得到了周期解的存在性和唯一性条件;特别地,当$g(s,x)\equiv 0, A(t,x)=A(t)$时, 给出了存在唯一稳定周期解的条件.     

Finite Difference Method for Reaction-Diffusion Equation with Nonlocal Boundary Conditions

In this paper, we present a numerical approach to a class of nonlinear reaction-diffusion equations with nonlocal Robin type boundary conditions by finite difference methods. A second-order accurate difference scheme is derived by the method of reduction of order. Moreover, we prove that the scheme is uniquely solvable and convergent with the convergence rate of order two in a discrete L2-norm. A simple numerical example is given to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
